On Thursday, September 11, 2014, the Ideas Box were officially inaugurated at the French Institute of Bujumbura, Burundi’s capital.

On this occasion, our country coordinator, Benjamin Gausset, re-visited the deployment of the first 3 Ideas Box for Congolese refugees in the camps of Musasa, Kavumu and Bwagiriza, and mentioned the results obtained during the first six months of the trial experimentation. He also announced the arrival of a fourth Ideas Box to Makamba camp, destined for both returnee and local populations.

Speaking in the presence of more than 70 guests, including French embassy staff, representatives from UNICEF, UNHCR, the United Nations Development Fund (UNDP) and more than a dozen organizations, he emphasized LWB’s mission “provide vulnerable populations with the tools to understand the world and transform it. At LWB, we are convinced that access to information, culture and education are formidable levers for the development of individuals and societies.”
